The native culture library is an ongoing project with the goal of collecting, preserving, and breeding a diverse range of fungi in the PNW and US. Currently, the culture library houses three phyla of fungi, including over 50 families and 300 individual species. A large portion of the collection is dedicated to notable wood decay fungi, and selective lignin degraders. Cultures are used for both research and also testing new methods of mushroom cultivation with an emphasis on outdoor systems that are beneficial to the Earth and are minimal in waste.

If you are interested in preserving a mushroom or fungus you have found, please consider reaching out and sending spore prints or cultures to me along with a detailed description and photos of the fungus. The culture library will also serve as a tool to produce spawn of native fungi for people to use. If you are interested in obtaining a culture from the library, please reach out to me using the contact form below. In the case of adding to the collection, I will get back to you with instructions on how to submit a sample.

Thanks for submitting!
